Inter-America – January 28, 2024
In response to the deepening humanitarian and security crisis in Haiti, the Adventist Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) Inter-American Division, in collaboration with the Haiti Union of Seventh-day Adventist Churches and ASI chapters across Haiti, hosted a special 24-hour prayer and fasting session under the theme "Save Haiti Through Prayer" from January 26 to 27, 2024.
The solemn spiritual initiative was held via the Inter-American Division’s Zoom platform and brought together Adventist members, leaders, and prayer warriors from across the region. Pastor Elie Henry, President of the Inter-American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, joined the ASI leadership and members in calling for divine intervention on behalf of the people of Haiti.
The event came at a critical time as the country continues to face escalating violence, widespread displacement, and a breakdown of public order. Armed gangs have terrorized communities, forcing thousands to flee their homes. Institutions, including the Adventist University of Haiti, have been temporarily closed due to safety concerns, and reports of kidnappings and murders have become increasingly common.
The 24-hour event featured three Zoom sessions and a dedicated early morning personal prayer segment, allowing participants to unite in spiritual solidarity across multiple time zones. The structure of the prayer program followed the A.C.T.S. model—Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication—with special exhortations and meditations offered by selected speakers throughout the sessions.

Participants joined in fervent prayer for peace, healing, safety, and the restoration of stability in Haiti. Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to stand in spiritual support with their brothers and sisters in the nation during such a challenging time.
The ASI-IAD leadership emphasized that prayer is not a last resort, but a first response and a powerful spiritual tool in times of distress. They encouraged ongoing support, solidarity, and intercession for Haiti and reaffirmed their commitment to continue uplifting the nation in prayer.
