Montego Bay, Jamaica – August 19, 2023
Evangelist Fitz Henry was formally recognized by Adventist Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) Inter-America during its 25th Anniversary Banquet, held at the Rose Hall Beach Resort and Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The tribute celebrated Henry’s remarkable evangelistic impact, having led more than 100,000 individuals to commit their lives to Christ through baptism into the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Since launching his ministry in 1979, Evangelist Henry has preached across the Caribbean and beyond, baptizing thousands in Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad, and the Cayman Islands. His international outreach includes hundreds baptized in England and Canada, along with thousands in several African nations: 4,000 in Zambia, 5,000 each in Uganda and Tanzania, and an extraordinary 25,000 in South Africa. Additional baptisms have also taken place in Botswana and Rwanda under his ministry.
One significant milestone in his evangelistic journey occurred in 1997, during a tent campaign held at the Bobby Thompson Highway in Grand Cayman. That effort resulted in 265 baptisms and the founding of the Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church. ASI Inter-American Division President noted a special connection to that campaign, sharing that one of the new members baptized at the time was his own wife, Sister Sherree Riley.
Evangelist Henry was praised not only for his lifelong dedication but also for his unwavering willingness to be used by God in fulfilling the mission of the Church. His work continues to inspire lay and full-time ministers alike throughout the Inter-American Division and beyond.
